‘Mangaluru Sangeethotsava 2018’-a Carnatic Classical Music Festival from 17- 25th Nov
Mangaluru: Sangeetha Parishath, Mangalore (R), a renowned Carnatic Classical music Sabha, on the eve of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations, has organised the Mangaluru Sangeethothsava 2018 (a 9 days’ music festival) in association with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Ramakrishna Matha, Mangaluru, from November 17 – 25th 2018, at Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, Ramakrishna Matha, Near Shri Mangaladevi Temple, Mangaluru.
Padmavibhushana Dr D VeerendraHeggade, Dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmastala, will be inaugurating the grand festival on 17th November, at 3.00p.m., by lighting the lamp, in the presidential presence of Swami Jnanayoganandaji, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysore. Sri Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru (South), Sri Rajesh G, Asst Director, Dept of Kannada & Culture, D.K, Govt of Karnataka, Sri Mahabaleshwara M S, MD & CEO, Karnataka Bank Ltd, Sri Nanjundappa Thimmaiah, Regional Head, Union Bank of India, will be the guests of honour.
Sangeetha Parishath will be felicitating GanaKalashree Layakalaa Prathibhamani Vidwan Shri H S Sudhindra, Director Suswaralaya College of Music Bangalore, Renowned Art Critic Shri A Ishwarayya, Manipal and Sangeetha Visharade, Vidushi Smt. Suchithra Holla, Director, Sadhana Sangeetha Vidyalaya Puttur, on this occasion.
The 9 days’ festival would feature Carnatic classical music concerts by Renowned artistes from South India, such as Sri Nagesh Bappanadu, Sri Ramakrishnan Moorthy, Chennai, Sri Saketharaman, Chennai, Dr. Mrs. T S Sathyavathi, Malladi Brothers, Mrs. Archana & Arathi Sisters and promising artists like Smt Shreya Kolathaya, Sri Sikkil Gurucharan, Sri Sid Sriram, Trissur Dileep, Kum Anahita & Apoorva and others ably supported by the accompanying artistes.
The valedictory function of the 9 days’ music festival will be held on 25th November, at 3.30 p.m. at Ramakrishna Matha. Swami Jithakamanadaji, President, Sri Ramakrishna Matha has kindly consented to preside over the function. The Parishath will be honouring the awardees of South Indian level competition, Ragam Tanam Pallavi,- Aarohanam – 2018, held on the eve of Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
“Kaladeepthi” Vidwan Kanchana Ishwara Bhat, Director, Sunada Sangeetha Kala Shale, Puttur, Sri Nikshith Puttur, MS Subbulaxmi fellowship awardee, Sri Krishna Pawan Kumar, Sangeetha Mudra awardee will be felicitated during the program. Young Talent Awards will be given to Kum. Dhanashree Shabaraya, Kum. Prajna Adiga, Mast. Sumukha Karanth and Mast. Rakshith R Bhat. Prizes will be distributed to the winners of the Junior level music competitions held by the Parishath.
