Mangaluru: Brand Ambassador of Panchmal Properties, Sonu Sood in a press meet held on November 29, at Hotel Ocean Pearl said, “I had always heard great things about Mangalore – the people are very intelligent, there are lots of educational institutions, lots of greenery – and when I landed here, I found that all the stories about it are very true. Noting the difference between the chaotic life in Mumbai, he said, “When we shoot in Mumbai, it is always very chaotic; there are lots of people and traffic since many people have their homes around Lonavala, where we do many of our shootings. So why not have a place far away from Mumbai, where you can spend a week as vacation? And there is no other place better than Mangalore for it. I am thoroughly convinced that if you want a home away from home, then Mangalore is the right place.

Sonu is currently shooting for a movie with Jackie Chan called ‘Kung Fu Yoga’. The shooting in Dubai has been wrapped up and shooting in four other countries, with Jaipur and Jodhpur in India, is set to finish by April, May next year, with the movie slated to release next year. “When we start India promotion, maybe I can convince Jackie Chan also to come to Mangalore, since it is now my second home,” he added.
Citing his views on the recent statements by actors on intolerance, he said, “There are many times when we talk jovially about the feelings that we have about the country, about the whole situation that is going on, you just say things that you don’t mean; those things are highlighted by the media, social media and things go out of hands. We shouldn’t take these things very seriously. We should chill and just enjoy life rather than focusing too much on this word called intolerance.”
He further said, “When you are a public figure, it’s important to choose your words right. They are always chances that you will say something that will go out of hand. And that’s the price you have to pay to stay in this field.”
