Mangaluru: To celebrate the 90th birthday of Sri Sri Sudindra Thirtha Swamiji of Kashi Math, Spandana has organized a special programme “Navathi” from March 8, said the president of the celebration committee Dayanand Pai in a press meet held at Hotel Ocean Pearl here on March 7.
Addressing the mediapersons Dayanand Pai said, “For Gowda Sarswat Brahmins, Sri Sri Sudindra Thirtha Swamiji of Kashi Math is a great asset. From the past 65 years, he has given too much to the community. In any religion, the only aim is ultimately to reach God. Ours is a micro minority community and our population is hardly 22 -25 lakh out of the 125 crore but the achievements are very high. From our small district, especially from a GSB community, we have given four banks. To prosper in all fields, we need the prayer and blessings of Sri Sri Sudindra Thirtha Swamiji. If I am a successful person, then it is because of Sri Sri Sudindra Thirtha Swamiji of Kashi Math. We are the beneficiaries of their prayers. When God has given so much to us, we have to share it with our poor brethren. If you go to US, you will find GSB doctors.”
He further said, “To celebrate the 90th birthday, we have planned to start Navathi.” He urged the people to gather in large numbers to celebrate the birthday of Sri Sri Sudindra Thirtha Swamiji. He then launched the telecast of ‘Navathi’.
From April 1 to 6, the Navathi programme will be held at Haridhwar. A special committee has been formed and Dayananda Pai is the president of the committee. The programme will be telecast from March 8 for 90 days on the Spandana TV channel.
Chief of Spandana Vilas Nayak, Mohini Pai, Basti Vaman Shenoy, Entrepreneur Pradeep Rai, Suresh Kamath, Sudhakar Bhat, Pandit Narasimha Acharya and others were also present.
