Mangaluru: Sri Rama Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik held a press meet at the Scout’s Bhavan, Moodshedde on September 13.
Addressing the mediapersons, Muthalik said that the Supreme Court asked the Karnataka government to decide the claims over the disputed cave shrine of Guru Dattatreya Baba Budangiri Swamy dargah in Chikkamagaluru. He also said that the Muslim community should be given the Baba Budangiri Dargah in Nagenahalli. “We will not give an inch of land in Datta Peeta because it belongs to Hindus. We will fight until we get the “Datta Peeta”.
“We do not have trust in the state government. We have doubts that the state government, for the vote bank, will convert Datta Peeta into Baba Budanigiri Dargah. In Nagenahalli, under survey number 57, a Baba Budangiri Dargah already exists. If the state government really wants to bring peace in the state, Datta Peeta should be given to the Hindus to pray. We will not give a single inch of land to Baba Budanigiri. This time on October 25, more than 5000 Dutta Maladaris will pressurise the government to hand over the Datta Peeta to Hindus and the Baba Budangiri Dargah in Nagenahalli to the Muslims. We will fight for Datta Peeta, they should review it again by handing over the issue to the Supreme Court. We need to bring an end to this issue for peace and harmony.”
He further said that, senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary said that the Union Government should ban the export of beef in the country. “If beef will be banned from being exported, we can stop cow slaughter in the country. Before the elections, Modi assured to stop the export of beef, but after visiting foreign countries, Modi has increased the beef export by 10%. Modi said that he would protect the cows by banning beef exports and then he signs agreements with foreign countries to export 10% more beef. In 7 states, cow slaughter has been banned. In Jammu and Kashmir, the beef was being exported to Pakistan. By banning beef in J&K, the government has taken a good decision.”
Bangladeshis who are working in Karnataka are illegal migrants, they work for builders as security guards and more than 1000 Bangladeshis are working in Mangaluru. Here in Mangaluru, our people are not getting employment because of them. In the coming days, these Bangladeshi Muslims will establish themselves in the city and the days are not far when they will get involved in all kinds of illegal activities. All the Bangladeshis should be expelled from Karnataka. At present, we have identified more than 700 Bangladeshis who are working in Mangaluru. Some have Aadhar cards and some have obtained voter IDs. Within 15 days, we will submit a memorandum to the DC providing all the details and demanding for their expulsion. If the district administration fails to expel the Bangladeshis from the coastal district, SRS will start expelling the Bangladeshis themselves, he added.
When asked about his stand on the Yettinahole project, he said that we need to make a common water policy to avoid confusions. “Everyone needs water and we have to think unitedly in this regard. So far, the Sri Rama Sene did not decide to take part in the protest.” He also said that the Goa government does not want him in the state. “They entertain the Nigerians, but not Muthalik even though I am not involved in terrorism, smuggling nor in the drug mafia. They allow Australians and Nigerians to enter Goa, but they have banned me from entering. Nigerians are involved in drug mafia and they are spoiling the people of Goa. When Togadia was banned to attend the programme in Mangaluru, Eshwarappa asked if Togadia is from Pakistan. Is Muthalik from Afghanistan?” he questioned. “BJP has no voice to tell that they are with the Hindus. The policy of the BJP and Congress is the same.”
When asked about the murder of Dr Kalburgi, Muthalik said that Veeresh is not involved in any cases. “He is the SRS head in Haveri. He does not know driving and he did not attend any camp. Veeresh attended the Hindu Mahasabha centenary celebrations preparation. He is not a sharp shooter. Some media published news about Veeresh which is far from truth. We condemn the murder of Kalburgi. We are not involved in murders and we will not be involved in such heinous crimes. Let the police reveal the truth about the Kalburgi murder case. We believe the police will surely find the culprits in the murder case.”
Mahesh Koppa, Gangadhar Kulkarni, Kumar Malemar, Anand Shetty Adyar and Jeevan were also present.
