Mangaluru: BJP leader K S Eshwarappa held a press meet at the BJP office here on February 7.

Addressing the mediapersons Eshwarappa said that the state government led by Siddaramaiah is not a transparent government, On February 5, the central government had sent an order to call for tenders for the Iron ore. Without calling for tenders, the state government allotted the iron ore to 7 companies. Eshawarappa said that this issue will be discussed in the session in Bengaluru.

He further said that Bescom without calling for tenders have purchased 20 lakh power supply meters worth Rs 190 crore. The state government is violating the KTPP act. Why the Bescom did not invite tenders? he questioned. It is a clear violation of act and the state government is deliberately doing it in favour of the companies. The violators should be punished under the KTPP act, he said.

Prohibiting entry to Togadia to attend the Hindu Samajotsava in Bengaluru, Eshwarappa said that Togadia had attended the same convention in many places and he had delivered speeches but no case has been filed against him. Then Why is the state government prohibiting Togadia from entering Bengaluru to take part in the Hindu Virat Samavesh? he questioned.

He also said that on February 8, a Hindu Virat Samavesh will be held in the National Parade Maidan, Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade from Dharmasthala and Swamijis will attend the Samavesha in large numbers. The State government is trying to curb the freedom of speech. One month ago, our leaders submitted a letter seeking permission for Togadia to attend the Hindu Virat Samavesh in Bengaluru. On February 3, the permission was granted for the programme but at the same time permission for Togadia to attend the programme was denied.

He also said that during the emergency, former Prime minister Indira Gandhi had attempted to curb the freedom of speech and as a result she lost power in the centre. Now if the state government will try to curb the freedom of speech, it will also face the same situation he warned.

The Samajostava is to unite all the Hindus in the country. We respect the order of the court but at the same time it is sad that Togadia has been prohibited from entering Bengaluru. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should know his power, he should not allow the police to overrule him.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former MLA Yogish Bhat, Sulochana G K Bhat, Pratap Simha Nayak, Krishna Palemar and others were also present.
