Mangaluru: The officers of Customs at International Airport, seized gold in the form of Sixteen Nos.of Ten Tola Gold Bars totally weighing 1865.650 Grams of value Rs.50,55,912/- (Rupees Fifty Lakhs Fifty Five Thousand Nine Hundred and Twelve only) here on April 27.
The passenger had brought these gold rods by concealing them underneath the seat in the Aircraft in which he had travelled. The passenger Mohammed Luqman Ahmed (29), native of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, who arrived at Mangalore International Airport on April 27, at 09.30 hrs by Jet Airways Flight No. 9W531 from Dubai.
The passenger has been arrested and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mangaluru, for remand. Further investigation is under progress.
