Mangaluru: In yet another incident of theft at wedding venues, gold jewellery worth Rs 92,000
A wedding function was in progress. Ratnavati, one of the sisters of bridegroom Hemant, had placed her jewellery in a bag and kept it in the groom’s changing room before going to the hall. When she returned around lunch-time, she was shocked to observe that the bag was missing.
The theft is thought to have taken place between 11-30 am and 1-30 pm. Among the valuables were a double-rowed coral chain with a pendant with a Lakshmi’s image weighing two and a half sovereign worth Rs 65,000, a lady’s ring worth Rs 8,500, another lady’s ring worth Rs 6,500 with SR initials and a star-shaped gent’s ring worth Rs 12,000.
A case has been registered at the rural police station in Maroli.
