Mangaluru: Three Arrested in Illegal Drug Trade – Ganja and weapons seized

Mangaluru: The officials of the Excise department arrested three persons trading ganja and seized ganja worth Rs 50,000 from their possession from Jalligudda here on February 6.

The arrested have been identified as Avinash a resident of Padil, Naufal and Venkateshfrom Jalligudda.

On getting reliable information the excise officials raided a house at Jalligudda and seized ganja packed in various packets along with a weighing scale, machete, mobile phones and sickle.

The raid was conducted under the able guidance of DC of Excise department LManjunath, deputy superintendent Dr Ashalatha and team.

Speaking to the mediapersons L A Manjunath said that the Zilla Panchayat and TalukPanchayat elections are nearing. To control the illegal transport of drugs and liquor we have set up checkposts in every taluk. We have also formed special teams to monitor the activities of suspected persons. We will continue to raid suspected places, our aim is to make DK a drug free district.

Hmmm.. Sarvanaasha..(or, hey, is it Avinasha?), Naufala and Venkatesha.

How come our Yumreeki ‘copy-paste’ correspondent didn’t bleat these names? Was it because of the peaceful men flanking the ‘middleman’? 🙂
