Mangaluru: Tragedy Strikes Students, Car Falls into River -Two Die

Mangaluru (update 1:00a.m) The deceased has been identified as Preneetha Suvarna (20), daughter of Vasanth Suvarna and Hemalatha Suvarna, a native of Karwar. She was the only daughter of the Suvarna couple.

 Speaking to mangalorean.com one of Preneetha’s relative said, “Preneetha was staying with her mother in Mumbai and her father is working in Karwar. Preneetha had just answered her Second PU examination in Mumbai and came on vacation to Karwar. Recently I went to Karwar to meet her father, while I was coming back from Karwar three days ago, I brought her along with me to Mangaluru. My mother is staying in Balmatta, whenever Preneetha came down to Mangaluru, she used to stay with her grandma and also visit us. Today afternoon she had lunch with her aunt who is also staying in Balmatta and went back to her grandma’s house. We came to know about the tragedy at 8:00 PM”.Preneetha’s father Vasanth is already on his way to Mangaluru from Karwar. Her Mother Hemalatha has also left Mumbai and is on her way to Mangaluru, she is expected to reach Mangaluru on May 13.Dr Iftikar also visited the hospital and met the family members of the deceased.
Mangaluru (update 10.00PM): The deceased has been identified as Tasheel (22), a resident of Falnir, the identity of the girl is yet to be known.

Speaking to mangalorean.com Tasheel’s relative said that Tasheel had just completed his BCom. He also said that the identity of the girl is not yet known.

According to police the girl has not yet been identified. She is 5’3″ tall, is of white complexion she wore black T-shirt with white jacket, Black cotton Jeans with a red belt at the time of incident.

Her body has been kept in the Wenlock mortuary for identification.

Mangaluru: Two students died after their car fell in the river at Tannirbavi  here on May 12.
According to primary reports the students were studying in college in the city.
They were going to the beach and when the driver was trying to overtake other vehicle, he lost control of the car and the car fell in the river. Both the occupants in the car were killed in the tragic incident.
Bodies of both the students have been lifted from the river and taken to the hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered in the Panambur police station.
