Mangaluru: Under the banner of Yodha Motion Pictures, Soorya Menon’s Tulu Film, hit the silver screen with a big bang at Jyothi Talkies, Ambedkar Circle here on February 12.
Before the screening of the film, there was a formal inaugural function held at the Jyothi Talkies premises. RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and Educationalist Sadananda Shetty lighted the traditional lamp along with other dignitories.
Addressing the gathering Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat said, “The Tulu film industry is a part of Indian cinema now. Tulu film industry has grown to the level where films are being released simultaneously in Mangaluru. Mangaluru is perhaps becoming a city of movie lovers. Tulu movies were earlier viewed as art films but now they are more commercial. The new wave of Tulu cinema has tasted success not only in Mangaluru, but also among regional communities in West Asia. This film seems to be a different film which revolves around friendship and sports. We hope this movie is encouraged in Kudla.”
Educationalist Sadananda Shetty said, “This movie has captured the sport of kabaddi in a special way. National and State-level kabaddi players have acted in it. The music is different from the usual tulu music. Tulu cinema is in the process of creating history. It is surely the cinema of the future,” he said.
Movie Producer Ranjith Shetty, Creative Producer Kudla Saikrishna, Naveen D Padil and other cast and crew of the movie were also present during the screening.
