Mangaluru: Under the banner of Indira Movies, Ananthram Rao Yermal’s Tulu film hit the silver screen with a big bang at Suchitra Talkies, K S Rao Road here on February 5.
Before the screening of the film, there was a formal inaugural function held at the SuchitraTalkies premises. Producer and Director Devdas Kapikad and Prakash Pandeshwarinaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering Devdas Kapikad said, “Pavitra means holy and Anatharam has produced a beautiful movie to retain the Tulu culture. Being in Chennai he did not give up his love for the Tulu language. At the age of 82 he has created history by producing the Movie ‘Pavitra’. We all should appreciate Ananthram for his love towards Tulu language and all the people of Mangaluru should support his movies,” he said.
He further said that now a days Tulu movies are running successfully in theatres which shows the support from the people for Tulu Movies. Let Tulu movies prosper in the film industry.
Prakash Pandeshwar also spoke on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Ananthram urged Mangaloreans to watch “Pavitra” Tulu movie along with their families. If you like the movie encourage others to watch it. He also said, “My wish is to start Tulu film Chamber inMangaluru and I need the support from all the Tulu film directors and producers”.
Soujanya Hegde compered the programme. The film Pavitra is being released in Suchitra, PVR, cinepolis Big Cinemas in Mangalore, Kalpana in Udupi, Isaac in Manipal, Nakshatra in B C Road and Aruna in Puttur.
