Mangaluru: The North police have arrested two persons in connection with two theft cases, said the Police Commissioner S Murugan in a press meet held at the Police Conference hall, here on May 16.
Addressing the mediapersons, S Murugan said that on May 13, some miscreants broke into Laxmidas Jewellers and JES Tours and Travels shop at Balmatta and decamped with valuable silver ornaments, laptop, mobile phones and other items worth Rs 10 lakh. Cases were registered in the Mangaluru North Police Station under crime number 170/2015 U/s 457, 380 IPC and Cr No 171/2015 U/S 457, 380 IPC.
In this connection the Bunder police arrested two North Indians. They have been been identified as Mohammed Ifthikar Alam (22) and Mohammed Sabeer (22), natives of Thana K Nagar, Bihar. The police have seized the items from their possession.
The operation was carried out by Bunder PI Shantharama, PSI K K Ramakrishna and Madan M C under the direction of Police Commissioner S Murugan and the able guidance of DCP Crime Vishnuverdhan and ACP Thilak Chandra.
It is learnt that Mohammed Ifthikar Alam and Mohammed Sabeer have been previously involved in various theft cases.
