Mangaluru: Two brothers drowned while taking a dip in the Netravati river here, on May 21.
The deceased have been identified as Sahil (15) and his younger brother Suhail (12), from Padu Village.
According to the police, on the evening of May 21, Sahil and Suhail, along with other boys after playing cricket at Sujeer in Padu Village, went to have a dip in the river. While they were playing in the water, Suhail found himself stuck in the river and Sahil went to assist him. Unfortunately, both were dragged away by the strong current.
Sahil and Suhail were both students of the Holy Family School, Meremajal and children of Ishaq.
The bodies have been lifted from the river and sent for post mortem. A case has been registered in the Bantwal Rural Police Station.
