Mangaluru: Udyoga Mela – DK Admin to Hold Orientation Programme for Job Aspirants

Mangaluru: District Minister in-charge, B Ramanath Rai held a press meet at the Circuit House in connection to the Udyoga Mela to be held at the Canara Engineering College Benjanpadav here, on November 2.

Addressing the mediapersons, Ramanath Rai said that the “Mangaluru Udyoga Mela” would be organised on November 19 and 20, and as a preparation, orientation programmes will be held on November 7 and 8 in every taluk for the job aspirants to help them face interview during the mela. The orientation programme will he held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
“We have also set up orientation centres in Mangaluru at the Karnataka Polytechnic, Moodbidri Alva’s College, Government Junior College Mulky, Best English Medium School Bantwal, St Victor English Girl’s High School Puttur, St Bridget School Sullia and DK ZP Higher Primary School Belthangady.”
Rai further said that more than 192 companies including multi-national companies have orally agreed to take part  in the mela. “Out of the 192, 45 companies have registered officially and other companies will register by November 7. On October 27, we had met the CEOs and HR managers of various companies in Bengaluru and the meeting was very fruitful. From the UAE, NMC and Thumbay Group have also assured to take part in the Udyoga Mela,” he added.
Deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim said that, job aspirants will be trained to face interviews. “We are not assuring particular jobs to the candidates. The selection is based on the ability and qualification of the candidates. Once selected, we will keep in touch with the companies as well as with the candidates,” he added.

Some of the reporters later questioned the minister about Yettinahole project. Rai responding to their queries saying, “Let the opposition take the initiative to stop the project. MP Nalin Kumar held a walk-a-thon (Kalnadige Jatha) to stop the Yettinahole project. Instead of walking till Yettinahole, he should have pressurised his party leaders to stop the project. If the opposition will take the initiative to stop the project, I will surely discuss the matter with the Chief Minister to stop the project.”
MLA J R Lobo, DC A B Ibrahim, Mayor Jacintha Alfred, CEO of ZP Sreevidya, SP Dr Sharanappa, Vivek Alva and others were also present.
