Mangaluru: A team of central crime records bureau (CCRB) police led by inspector Guru Dutt Kamath raided a lodging house in the city on Saturday.
They had received information the at sex trade was being operated there. Inspector Kamath obtained a search warrant from city central division assistant commissioner of police and conducted the raid.
A man and a woman were found in one of the rooms. When they were interrogated, they admitted to having been involved in sex trade. Another four were also found in other rooms, who too admitted to being involved in the same activity.
The activity was going on with the collusion of B Sadananda Rao, who owns the lodging house. A cash amount of Rs 1,700 has been seized during the operation. The woman has been sent to Prajna Counselling Centre in Jeppinamogaru, while the men have been sent to custody.
A case has been registered in the city north police station.
