Mangaluru: Konkani Bhas ani Sanskriti Pratistan, Vishwa Konkani Kendra organized ‘Ek Ashilo Rayi’ by Amchi Ranga Karmi Nataka Mandali Mumbai, at the Don Bosco Hall, here on January 12.
The programme began with an invocation through a prayer song.
President of Vishwa Konkani Kendra Basti Vaman Shenoy welcomed the gathering. He also said that many Konkani speaking people have worked hard for the growth of Konkani stage play. He also briefed on how Konkani organisations have grown in the last few years.
Deputy commissioner Gokuldas Naik also spoke on the occasion.
Director of ‘Ek Ashilo Rayi’, Dr C M Shenoy was felicitated on the occasion for his immense contribution to Konkani.
President of Konkani Sahitya Academy Roy Castelino, President of Besent Educational Institution Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, Asst Director of Kannada and Cultural department Chandrahas Rai B, Pradeep J Shenoy, B Devdas Pai, Paul Moras, Fr Francis Rodrigues, Melwyn Rodrigues and others were also present.
Manekar delivered the vote of thanks.
