Mangaluru: Woman, Daughter Arrested while Carrying Ganja for Undertrials into Jail

Mangaluru: A woman and her daughter from Kasaba Bengre have been arrested by the Barke police for allegedly trying to smuggle150 gms of ganja meant to be delivered to inmates in the district jail here.

Zubeida (45) and Misriya (18) had arrived at the jail to hand over clothes to two undertrials, Haris and Altaf. When the watch and ward staff put the bag they had brought on the scanner, it was found to contain a pair of jeans.

Its pocket was found to contain a sachet. On inspection, a small stock of ganja weighing 150 gms was found. In illegal market, it was expected to fetch Rs 3,000.

The matter was brought to the notice of the Barke police, who arrived and arrested them.

On interrogation, they are said to have named one Tasreef as the one who had asked them to deliver it to the jail inmates, while they were innocent in the matter.

They were produced in a court and were released on bail.

Drugs and Heroine consumption is a serious crime and punished severely all over the world particularly Saudi, China, Malaysia and most of the UN Nations. The Police caught and Mangalore Court bailed. Only to get some penalty money they are proxy encouraging drugs in Mangalore and being a hindrance to Mangalorean Organizations who are doing their best effort to eliminate drugs.
