Mangaluru: A tragic incident occurred on Monday (Nov 11) morning at Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangaluru, where a 28-year-old woman, Ranjitha, jumped to her death from the fourth floor.

Ranjitha, a resident of Karkala, was admitted to the hospital on Oct 28 for delivery. Due to complications, she was shifted to Lady Goschen Hospital on Oct 30. She underwent a cesarean section on Oct 30, but the baby passed away at 3 am on Nov 3.

Ranjitha was recovering and was advised discharge by doctors on Monday. Her family members were also prepared to take her home. However, in a shocking turn of events, Ranjitha jumped from the fourth floor, allegedly due to mental distress.

She was immediately rushed to Wenlock Hospital, where she was declared dead.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding Ranjitha’s death.
