Mangaluru: On October 5, 2024, the Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital in Mangaluru hosted a Continuous Medical Education (CME) program centered around the Prakruthi Shakthi concept of vitality. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Neha Haswani, an associate professor in the Department of Microbiology at Yenepoya Medical College and Hospital, alongside Guest of Honor Dr. Shivaprasad, the Dean of Yenepoya Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital.

Dr. Shivaprasad addressed the gathering, elucidating the concept of vitality within the framework of homeopathy. He emphasized that vitality represents the life force intrinsic to every individual, playing a crucial role in preserving health and promoting well-being. This notion aligns closely with the principles of naturopathy, which advocates for a holistic approach to health, emphasizing the body’s inherent ability to heal itself.

The CME consisted of four informative sessions. Dr. Neha Haswani initiated discussions on immune health and its connection to vitality. She was followed by Dr. Geetha Shetty, Professor and Dean at SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Science, who presented an evidence-based approach to understanding vitality. The third session, conducted by Dr. Sunitha Dsouza, focused on the role of diet in enhancing vitality, while Dr. Abhijna’s session offered a naturopathic perspective on the concept itself. The event attracted delegates from across India, highlighting the growing interest in holistic and integrative health practices.

Concluding at 4:00 pm, the CME featured a valedictory function with Dr. Shakthi Vijayan as the esteemed guest. In his address, he reiterated the importance of understanding vitality in contemporary health practices. Dr. Puneeth, the in-charge principal of Yenepoya Naturopathy College and Hospital, further elaborated on the role of vitality within naturopathy, reinforcing its significance. Ms. Shaizana hosted the event, while Dr. Arshad extended a warm welcome to all attendees, including the entire cohort of Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science students.

This CME not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also advocated for a deeper appreciation of vitality within the realms of naturopathy and holistic health, reaffirming the commitment of Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital to advancing education in integrative medicine.
