Manipal: 70% Sugar Factory Owners are from BJP, BSY should Convince them to pay Farmers Dues – Sorake

Manipal: “70% of the sugar factory owners are from the BJP, BS Yeddyurappa should convince them to pay dues to farmers,” said Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister in-charge District. He was addressing the mediapersons at a pressmeet after the review meeting at Zilla Panchayat, Udupi here on June 22.

Hitting hard on BS Yeddyurappa’s statement saying that the Congress government has failed to initiate steps to protect the interest of sugarcane growers, Vinay Kumar Sorake said that the support price fixed for sugarcane is highest when compared to other states in India. “While the BJP was in power in the state, it did not refer any scam to the CBI but the Congress government has referred 5 cases to the CBI including the financial irregularities in the Urban Development Authority.”

” BS Yeddyurappa has no right to question the functioning of the Congress government because he supported corruption and was even in jail. The ADB scheme was proposed during the SM Krishna government but was later implemented by the  government, which failed to review it then but is interested now.”

A task force has been constituted presided by the Assistant Commissioner to check on the losses due to rain. The committee will compensate on priority basis. The district has secured first place in SSLC examinations and second in PUC examinations which has made the district proud. A special report has been sent to the environment ministry on sand mining in the district. Legal opinion has been sought on 94 C, while the guidelines will be issued to the district administration to consider minimum guidance value of the land while giving land deeds.

Projects worth 15 crore rupees have been implemented under the RMS scheme. The multi-village drinking water scheme has been completed in Chara and Hebri. Varahi water has been stopped as it is entering into the fields of the farmers in excess and the problem will be soon fixed. A relief of rupees 6,81,000 has been distributed to the individuals on atrocities. A fund of Rs 2.5 crore has been reserved for natural calamity. 1253 agricultural pump set connections have been granted by the MESCOM department.

Bus permit will be granted for Heneberu. A visit has been made to the sea erosion affected areas, he added.

One has to pay no attention to the politicians accusing their counterparts on a policy issue. They are all the same behind the curtains. It’s just the show they put on in front of the public to remain popular. In another news article you may have seen the BJP party members were seen accusing the ruling Congress party for the transfer of MCC commissioner. What many people fail to see is that the building mafia behind the curtains is running the show.
