Manipal CPI Girish transferred to DCIB Udupi

Udupi: Girish CPI Manipal Station, facing the charge of negligence in the investigation of Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty murder case, has been transferred to DCIB Udupi.

In the Bhaskar Shetty murder case there were allegations of negligence and delay in the investigation by CPI Girish. Bunt leaders had alleged that Girish had given the royal treatment to the accused Rajeshwari Shetty, Navaneeth Shetty and Niranjan Bhat. They had also demanded the suspension of Girish.

Later Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in-charge asked the IGP western range to appoint IPS officer Dr Suman ASP Karkala as the new investigation officer in place of Girish.

Sampath Kumar who was handling DCIB has been appointed as CPI Manipal Police Station.
