Manipal: Rains lashing the district may have brought joy and happiness to the people but losses have also been reported including loss of lives.
A landslide in front of the INOX cinemas has created fear in the people. Kundelkadu is one of the famous forested areas in Manipal where buildings have been constructed by cutting down trees.
INOX Cinemas, a unit of Central Cinemas, is built on the steep area of the Kundelkadu forest. Incessant rains in Udupi has resulted in loosening of the soil which caused the landslide near the cinema.
People who had come to the multiplex to watch movies were uneasy about the situation. The management of the multiplex cancelled the shows and refunded money to the customers. If the rain continues, there is a possibility of more landslides.
