Manipal: “The Shiv Sena’s ink attack is an insult to Indian democracy,” said SudheendraKulkarni, columnist and former media advisor to BJP leader L K Advani. He was speaking to mediapersons on his visit to Manipal here, on October 17.

Anti-democratic voices should be suppressed as they bring down the dignity of the country and its people. The book release of Kurshid Mahmud Kasuri had a specific objective and was not illegal in any way. “I had met Shiv Sena president UdhbavThackeray ahead of the book launch and presented my views which they may not have liked and so they carried out the ink attack on me. L K Advani and the citizens of India have condemned this act and the government has given me security, he said.

“The attack has given a platform to hold peace talks between India and Pakistan. Some people may object the peace talks while many of them still want peace talks to continue.”

The SAARC convention will be held in Islamabad in March 2016 and Prime MinisterNarendra Modi should attend it, he said, adding, “Modi has received the invitation from Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif and it will strengthen our relations with Pakistan.”

He further said that war is not a solution to end issues haunting India and Pakistan. Both nations have nuclear weapons and both nations cannot win a war against each other. “Peace is the only solution to end the Indo-Pak issues.”

He also said that religious intolerance should be put to an end. “The murder of Kalburgiis condemnable. The culprits should put behind bars. The incident in Dadri has badly affected our nation. The PM should initiate steps to silence intolerant forces.”

“Pakistan should strictly act on Dawood Ibrahim, an accused in 1993 Mumbai Blasts. This would strengthen India-Pakistan ties. Peace talks are not possible when one country is sheltering terrorists. Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee strengthened Indo-Pakties by resuming bus service, which former PM Manmohan Singh continued. PM Narendra Modi should also follow their path,” he added.

“Peace talks are not possible when one country is sheltering terrorists” says Sudhreendra Kulkarni after strongly advocating peace talks and Modiji’s attendance in SARC. This pretty much summarizes the paradoxical state of those who support peace talks with terrorist nation. We all know that peace is not possible when the other side is ALWAYS engaged in aggression and violence. A better relation is IMPOSSIBLE when the other side is not willing to give in an inch!! This is true with India-Pakistan or Israel-Palestenian situations. Nobody wants war. All of us want peaceful life. However, it doesn’t mean that you need… Read more »
