Manothejaka to host a Webinar on ‘Integrating Bio-Psycho Social Services’to Fight COVID-19 TODAY- 18 April at 5.30 pm
Mangaluru: Manothejaka is a free, confidential, mental wellness helpline created in response to COVID-19 and the anxiety caused by it. It is conducting a Zoom webinar on ‘Integrating Bio-Psycho Social services to Fight COVID 19 Pandemic’ on Saturday, the 18th of April, at 5:30 PM for counselors, social workers, psychologists, and other volunteers of NGOs. Manothejaka hopes to foster a collaborative relationship among volunteers across the country and form a support group wherein we can help each other reach out to people in the best way possible.
An open networking session has also been planned, wherein attendees can connect with different NGOs. The speakers and sessions are as follows:

– Dr Anil Kakunje, Head, Department of Psychiatry, Yenepoya Medical College, Mangaluru – “The ‘How’ and ‘Why’ of Delivering Tele-mental Health Services”
– Dr Edmond Fernandes, Founder and CEO, CHD (Centre for Health and Development) Group, Mangaluru – “The Need to Strengthen Public Health Services”
– Dr Rajani P, Deputy Director, Mental Health, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka – “Response of the Karnataka Government in Managing Mental Health During the COVID-19 Pandemic”
In light of the pandemic and the overwhelming mental health issues caused by this uncertainty, Manothejaka is an initiative formed by the Listening and Learning Centre of the Department of Psychology of St Aloysius College in association with Prajna Counselling Centre, CHD Group, and Aadya Communications. With a team of experienced psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, doctors, and other professionals, Manothejaka aims to lift up the spirits of people during the pandemic.
