Mangaluru: Looks like for this 34-old-man there is no stop in attaining Guinness World Records one after the other. Rakshith Shetty of Moodabidri/Mangaluru has been “keep going and going and going” in marathon and has been entering and entering and entering himself in the Guinness Book of World Records. Now he has achieved his 18th Guinness World Records running in the ” Mysuru Celebration Marathon -Half Marathon”- Dressed as Telephone. He completed the Marathon in 1 Hr 31 Mins and 33 Secs, thereby setting a new record. Team Mangalorean who have been supporting Rakshith’s efforts in this sport is very proud to note that he has now 18 Guinness World Records to his credit. Congrats buddy!

For people with a willingness to achieve, the world is full of opportunities. For that matter, Rakshith Shetty, who shows the world that to be an extraordinary achiever, all you need is a lot of passion and some out-of-the-box thinking. This man who lives by the principle of simple living and high thinking, down-to-earth, soft spoken Rakshith is now a proud holder of 18 Guinness World Records and guess what?- he’s the only one of his kind in India.

Even though Rakshith Shetty has bagged so many Guinness Records, he is very much hurt that no one from his community nor the government nor any organization has come forward to felicitate or help him financially in his sports talents. “May be because I am simple and poor, that no one wants to come forward and help me. I am looking forward for support and encouragement from anyone to succeed in my running/Marathon career. ” he says. Earlier Rakshith who was employed at Alva’s Institution, Moodabidri, has now found a new job in Whitefield, Bengaluru as a Sports Event Coordinator.

Speaking to Team Mangalorean over the phone, He said, “I thought moving to a metropolitan City ( Bengaluru) for a better job would help me come up in my sports field, but unfortunately it hasn’t helped until now, since I moved here few months ago. I moved away from my family and friends back in Moodabidri to this Garden City, hoping that Bengaluru being the Capital City would recognize my sporting talent, and would help me out. But there has been no luck, and my fate remains the same. Even though I had made several requests to the concerned people in the government, but no one come forward to help me out”.

He further said, “I have even met the the authorities in the govt department of sports, but it seems like they are not interested in my achievements. But I wont stop here, I will keep trying my luck. I will work hard and win more titles, and will keep approaching the govt for recognition and help. Like there is a saying, Try Try and You’ll Succeed- I am confident that one day I will make it a big one. I also need the support and encouragement from the public also. I am thankful to Team Mangalorean for always been supportive and highlighting my achievements”.
