Massive Forest Fire on the Verge of Spreading Vast Area of Charmadi Ghat
Kottigehara/Chikkamagaluru: For the last four days a massive forest fire has been spreading across the area of Charmadi Ghat, which originally started in Maloor reserve forest located on Charmadi Ghat. It is learnt that already nearly thousands of trees, plants, other vegetation and wildlife in vast numbers have already been destroyed.
Sources reveal that this forest fire has spread over about 50 acres of area near Mudigere, where many coffee estates exist. There are no signs of the fire dying down, and if the fir still continues there are chances of vast area of vegetation and other wild life will be destroyed. the intensity of forest fire increases, it can give rise to large scale devastation.
Wild animals, including birds have already perished in this raging fire. The small fire which was noted four days ago, has now turned into a massive fire which could lead to massive destruction of forestation and wildlife. It is suspected that greedy land mafia is behind this fire, where many of them own estates in that area, in order to drive away wild animals or for personal gain. People traveling by vehicles on Charmadi ghat can see the huge smoke coming from the thick forest in the vicinity.
