Massive preparations underway for Amit Shah’s Udupi visit
Udupi: Massive preparations are underway ahead of the three-day visit of the party’s National President Amit Shah to the Coastal Districts. BJP leaders and workers are collecting as much information about their respective areas. BJP national president Amit Shah will be on a three-day visit of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttar Kannada districts starting 19 to 21 February 2018.
Speaking at a press meet, district BJP president Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that to make the national president visit successful a series of meetings are being conducted with various leaders. Shah would be arriving in Udupi at around 4:00 p.m. on February 20 after completing his tour of the Dakshina Kannada district.
Amit Shah will be addressing a convention of fishermen from the three coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada at the Malpe beach here immediately upon his arrival. Nearly 50,000 people from the fishermen community from the three districts are expected to participate in this convention. The president of the State unit of the BJP B.S. Yeddyurappa will be among the national and state leaders participating in the convention. Shah will also visit the Sri Krishna Temple the same evening on February 20.
Shah would address a convention of social media heads of the BJP at 10:00 a.m. on February 21. This would be followed by a meeting of the BJP heads of the Shakti Kendras of six districts from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Hall. About 2,500 heads of the Shakti Kendras would be participating in the meeting. Shah would leave Udupi for Honnavar in Uttara Kannada district the same afternoon.
Uday Kumar Shetty state working committee president said that As per the schedule Shah will reach Mangaluru International Airport on a chartered flight on February 19 at 8 pm, address party workers outside the airport, before leaving for Kukke Sri Subramanya Kshetra and stay there overnight. After the Temple visit at 8:30 am the next day, he will address party workers and leave for Puttur. At Puttur, he will address the students of Vivekananda College of Engineering. Shah will later speak at the Navashakti convention of the three assembly constituencies at Bantwal.
Post Bantwal, Shah will visit the house of Deepak Rao, the Hindu activist at Surathkal before leaving for Udupi where he will take part in the fishermen convention organised at Malpe. Shah will visit Udupi Sri Krishna temple and meet the Paryaya Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji of Palimaru Math and Sri Vishvesha Theertha of Pejavar Adhokshaja Math. On February 21, he will participate in the party workers’ meet and leave for Uttara Kannada around 1:00 pm, he said.
Thingale Vikramarujuna Hegde BJP state secretary said that Shah would visit Honnavar from Udupi on that day at 2:00 pm and would meet the family members of Paresh Mesta, who died under suspicious circumstances and console the family. Later, at 3:00 pm, he would take part in Navashakti convention which is to be held in Kumta. He further said, at 4:15 pm, Shah would visit Sirsi Marikamba Temple. Later, he would leave for Hubballi.
