Mathru Poorna Scheme Failed to Evoke Good Response in Udupi – Shobha Karandlaje

Udupi: “The Mathru Poorna scheme, introduced to provide nutritious food for pregnant women has failed to evoke a good response in Udupi district. The district officials should report to the state government to transfer a fixed amount entitled to the beneficiaries of the scheme to their bank account” said Udupi – Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje.

She was chairing the district level development committee meeting at the Zilla Panchayat hall, Rajatadri Manipal on Monday, July 2.

After receiving the development report of Mathru Poorna scheme from Gracy Gonsalves, assistant director women and child department, MP Shobha said, “The scheme has succeeded only 50 percent in the district. In Malnad and the Coastal district, Pregnant women are not ready to visit the Anganwadi centres for food every day. The scheme has totally failed in our district.
