Mangaluru: It is that time of the year, when Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Bhasker K who took charge as Mayor of Mangaluru a year ago, has to finally give up his post as his tenure ends tomorrow, 8 March 2019, and his position will be taken over by Deputy Commissioner of DK Sasikanth Senthil as Interim Administrator of MCC.

DC will be the in-charge of the Corporation until elections to the MCC are held and a new council takes charge. The civic body polls are slated to be held sometime this year, and the exact date is yet to be finalized in the wake of Lok Sabha election. Mayor Bhasker K speaking to Team Mangalorean this morning said, “It has been a great and successful year, where we had done many developmental projects, many have been completed in time as promised, while a few are pending which will be completed soon. I thank my councilors and citizens of Mangaluru for their whole-hearted support shown towards me during my tenure as Mayor. While DC Sasikanth Senthil takes over as the administrator of MCC effective tomorrow, I wish him all luck”.

Effective tomorrow, 8 March all the decision making powers of the MCC will be vested with the Deputy Commissioner.
