MCC conducts raid, imposes Rs 60000 penalty for 6 hotels
Mangaluru: The Health department of the MCC raided various Hotels and a massage centre near KSRTC Bejai here on September 24.
The team led by Chairperson of the health committee Kavitha Sanil raided the hotels to check on the hygiene maintained.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Kavitha Sanil said, “We have raided 10 hotels to check on the maintenance of hygiene. We have found the kitchen’s in 6 hotels not up to the mark. We have issued notices to 4 hotels and 2 hotels have been locked for not maintaining cleanliness. We have imposed a penalty of Rs 10,000 each to all the 6 hotels”.
She further said that we have also raided a beauty parlour where we have found illegal activities being carried out. There were three men involved in illegal activities who fled from the parlour. We have issued a notice to the parlour. A tempo which was parked in front of the KSRTC bus stand and used for fast food was seized.
The drive will continue to crack down on all illegal activities in the city, said Kavitha.
