MCC Elections: DC Announces Public Holiday for Schools, Colleges and Govt Offices on Nov 12
Mangaluru: People across Mangaluru will head to the polling centres to cast their votes on November 12.
Deputy commissioner Sindhu Roopesh has announced public holiday on November 12, to schools, government offices and government institutions, so that the government employees, as well as the working class, can cast their votes.
The Deputy Commissioner has also advised traders and private companies to provide a holiday for their staff so that they can go to the polling centres and cast their votes.
The Holiday will not apply to emergency services, but the concerned authorities should make arrangements for their employees to vote. Government employees appointed for election duty should be present on time.
The public holiday has been announced under the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.
Many private companies have not declared holidays for their staff to caste votes , one such is Mresult situated at Rambhavan complex navbarath circle, Mangalore.
