MCC Elections, Voting Begins in All 60 Wards
Mangaluru: The polling for the MCC elections began in all the 60 wards in the city at 7:00 am on November 12.
Early morning at 7:00 am there was a moderate response from the voters. The polling is going on peacefully.
There are 448 polling booths out of which 75 booths have been identified as critical and 373 normal. For a smooth polling process 2 DCPs, 4 ACPs, 12 PIs, 32PSIs, 77 ASIs, 511 HC/PCs and 193 Home guards along with 5 KSRP, 10 CAR and 2 units of RAF have been deployed.
Former MLA J R Lobo arrived at St Sebastian Higher Primary School, Bendur at 7:00 am to cast his vote.
Speaking to mangalorean.com J R Lobo said, “I have come here to cast my vote at 7:00 am. This time the voters have shown more interest and have come here before 7:oo am. People want development and I hope the Congress corporators will win the MCC elections.”
Speaking to mangalorean.com 92-year-old Eugine Colaco said, “I have cast my vote, once upon a time this place I am standing now, was my house. I was born here, we had given this land to the School. I hope the election process will go on smoothly and the best candidates will win.
