Media Should not Exaggerate Communalism -CM Siddaramaiah
Bantwal: Media should not exaggerate communalism instead it should condemn it, then only it is possible to bring peace in the society, said Chief minister Siddaramaiah, during his visit to Bantwal to inaugurate ‘Jodumarga Udyanavana’, on October 9.
Siddaramaiah speaking to the mediapersons at the guest house said that communalism is a danger to the country which creates violence in the society. Media should not exaggerate communalism, instead, condemn it.
When asked about the Thumbay dam, which is being constructed to further height by the MCC to supply drinking water and the land and houses on the banks of the river being submerged. The CM said, “Once the work is completed, the affected families will be compensated”.
Minister Ramanath Rai said that from many years the construction of Thumbay dam was very slow but after congress came to power, the work is going on at a faster pace.
CM further said, to solve the problem of sand supply in the coastal district, a committee will be formed and a separate sand policy will be implemented. He also said that the Yettinahole project is not the diversion of Netravati river. During the monsoon season, water will be tapped from the west-flowing rivers for the project, it is purely an integrated Drinking Water Project.
A delegation led by Mayor Harinath, submitted a memorandum to the CM to release funds to compensate the families of the surrounding areas of Thumbay vented dam.
