Media should not Exaggerate Kavya’s Suicide Issue with unfounded Allegations – Kumaraswamy

Udupi: “The Alva’s Education Foundation has helped more than 3 lakh families. Thousands of students are pursuing their education there. The police are investigating Kavya’s suicide case, in this connection, the media should not exaggerate the issue with unfounded allegations”, said former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy during his visit to Katapady to attend a convention on July 30.

Addressing the mediapersons Kumaraswamy said, “Alva’s Education Foundation is imparting quality education to thousands of students. Various organisations are now protesting against Alva’s institutions and mentally torturing Dr Mohan Alva with false allegations. It is the duty of the government to investigate the case and give first-hand information to the public on Kavya’ s death. Some TV channels are holding discussions on Kavya’s death and passing the judgement which is not right. The Media should not pass the judgement or mislead the case without knowing the facts?”.

Kumaraswamy further said, “There are 26,000 students pursuing their education in Alva’s of which 4000 are getting free education. Even the Institution is also giving importance to sports and culture. Some organisations are trying to spoil the reputation of Alva’s institution. I request the people not to spoil the reputation of Alva’s Education Foundation”.

Kumaraswamy also said, “I have watched Dr Mohan Alva in a TV interview and he looked very much disturbed by the allegations. Organisations should stop playing politics in this case. Let us understand the truth before commenting. Some of the senior persons are acting like activists and discussing the issue on TV channels without knowing the facts, which is not right”.
