Meet Goa’s Child Prodigy – JOYRUS Mascarenhas

Meet Goa’s upcoming sensation Joyrus Greger Mascarenhas, without question, a unique and bold new talent in the making in Goa’s world of music and singing.
The young master plays the trumpet and is also a singer of immense calibre.
Music has been a large part of Joyrus’ life, inside of school and out, and it has offered him comfort, as well as a sense of pride so far.
Born to music-loving parents Ramiro & Joycilla Mascarenhas, Joyrus studies at Guardian Angel High School, Curchorem–Sanvordem, and he is still in the 8th standard.
Joyrus had his first trumpet performance at the age of 9, at his school’s annual sports day function, while his first singing performance was at 8 years of age at the Voice of Paroda Singing Competition.
Boosted by encouragement received from his parents, Joyrus stepped up to participate in various competitions. He won prizes galore all around winning the Voice of Paroda Singing Competition twice, once at the Tiny Tots level and again at Junior level.
Later, the young master won 2nd prize for a Duet Performance at School Level Singing Competition held at Pilar.

• Winner of ‘Aikat Mhozo Tallo’, an All Goa Konkani Singing Competition (Junior Level), Organized by Social & Cultural Society, Goa on 7TH May 2016
• Winner of ‘Voice Of Ravindra Bhavan’- Curchorem on 15TH May 2016
• First Prize Winner at the All Goa Singing Competition organized by Udentichim Kirnam Association, Sanguem and Dept. of Art & Culture, Gov. of Goa on 17th May 2016
Joyrus surely has the vocal chops to make it big. The young lad has a unique style that has drawn the attention of many, especially the innovative Goan drama directors.
Presently, he plays the lead trumpet for Comedian Hortencio’s show ‘Hanv Vetam’.
It is imminent that the little star will be seen on the mega stage soon as the sky is too close to be the limit for such a great talent.

Apart from Joyrus, the mega-musical will see a brass band magic on stage featuring musicians on saxophone, trombone and trumpet along with a cluster of select Goan singers.
Goa’s pop sensation O’luv Rodrigues and Goencho Avaz fame Divya Naik are lined up to perform while celebrated comedy brothers Prince Jacob and Humbert will also entertain Kuwait after a long time.
Other well-known stars that will take to the stage include Olga Vaz, Saby de Divar, Anil Pednekar, Olinda Fernandes, Simon Dias, Albino Lourenco, Cajie D’Costa, etc.
