Rosario (Argentina), July 10 (IANS) Antonella Roccuzzo, the girlfriend of Argentine football idol Lionel Messi, has been discharged from hospital where she was being treated for a urinary infection, sources close to the player have said.
The 27-year-old Roccuzzo, who is five months pregnant, complained of abdominal pain when she was admitted on Tuesday morning at Hospital Espanol in the FC Barcelona star’s native city of Rosario, reports Efe.
Doctors diagnosed a urinary infection and started treatment.
“It’s fine, luckily the hardest part has passed,” Messi told reporters as he left the hospital on Tuesday night.
Messi, Roccuzzo and the couple’s 2-year-old son, Thiago, were taking a brief vacation in Arroyo Seco, near Rosario, after the man regarded by many as the world’s best footballer competed for the Argentine national team at the Copa America tournament in Chile.
The family is expected to return soon to Barcelona.
