Milagres Students Favorite ‘Uncle’ Ronald D’souza (68) No More
Mangaluru: For decades he had run a petty shop named ‘Ronson’s Services’- dealing with stationary, candies, soft drinks and many other items, in the Milagres Mansion, opposite to Milagres Church-Mangaluru. His was a shop which was very handy for the students of Milagres School/College to keep their mobile phones {since mobile phones are banned inside the institution}, and their other personal items. And for that matter, his was also a shop, where many a times I had kept my personal stuff, like Camera, journo bag, other documents to be given to the office etc. And His was the First face I used to see every day/chat with Him for few minutes, before going to my office www.mangalorean.com since the office was located on the First Floor in the same building.
And this favorite person of the students and other citizens whom he knew very well, was Ronald Alwyn D’souza, aged 68, fondly known as “Uncle” by students, and as “Ronnie” by his friends, who unexpectedly passed away this morning, Wednesday, 18 April, 2018. His death news came as a shock to me, since me and Ronnie had a long chat on Monday evening before he closed his shop- and that’s the last time I could ever see him again. I have known ‘Ronnie” since ages since my younger days, and until recently we still cherished our long time friendship. With his sudden death, I miss a person who was very dear to my heart, and a friend where we both shared our views and news, and also cracked some jokes. Sadly missed! May His Soul Rest in Peace.
