Minister Khader to Hold MUDA Adalat on August 4

Mangaluru: “There are many complaints from the public about the delay in MUDA related work. To learn about the problem people face there, we will have a MUDA Adalat on August 4. We will also implement the automation of files so that all the files will be cleared within a week”, said the Minister for Housing and Urban Development U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on July 21.

Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “There are complaints about the delay in the paperwork in Mangalore urban development authority. After I took over as the Urban development minister I have taken it very seriously. I have decided to have the MUDA Adalat at the MUDA premises. If anyone is facing any problems they can come to the MUDA Adalat. We will be hearing the grievances of the people from 9:30 am on first come first basis. We will hear all the grievances and find out a solution to solve them. We will also adopt a system in MUDA during the second week of August to clear the files. Most of the procedures at MUDA will be streamlined.”

U T Khader further said, “There will be a lot of changes in the land development, building plan, layout and plan approvals, we will bring revolutionary changes in the system and within a month the single site issues will be cleared. At present 80 applications that are under inspection and waiting for the documents are pending. To put a full stop for all the lengthy procedures with a single window system. People having small sites can apply online by submitting the ZR building plan and get the permission immediately. The Middle-class people will benefit by this. Builders can also apply online, once the system accepts, automatically the documents will reach to all the 14 departments. Within a week the concerned departments should give an NOC. Spot inspection will be automatically allotted to the concerned departments and a date will be fixed.

The concerned officials will visit the spot and the approved plan will be issued within a month. I am now finalizing the single window system with the software company and when the system is implemented there will be revolutionary changes throughout the state and 90% of the problems will be solved. Those who come to Mangaluru for investment should not face any problems. By implementing a single window system we can encourage and attract investors to Mangaluru. The total cost for automation the system is Rs 7.5 crores”.
