I would also like to thank the organizers for the wonderful arrangements. I urge the public to be a part of this celebration and make it successful. Addressing the gathering Rishab Shetty said, “I am very happy to inaugurate the Karavali Utsav programme and indebted to your love towards me. Artistes from all over the state are participating in the Karavali Utsav festival. I am also from this coastal district and have not forgotten my past. Whatever tradition and culture we follow, I have continued. I studied in a Kannada medium school. Many Kannada medium schools are now closing down because parents are not interested to send their children to Kannada medium schools. I know that agitating or shouting slogans will not solve any of our problems.”

Rishab further said, “I thought of making a movie to do justice with the Kannada language and directed a film “Kasaragod higher primary School”. We use language to communicate with people. Many students who studied in Kannada medium are working as IPS and IAS officers. Language is just to communicate with others, we should not forget our mother tongue. I have highlighted the culture of South Canara in all my movies. I have highlighted the tiger dance and Yakshagana. This is a wonderful programme and I am honoured to be part of it. If we retain our culture and tradition, future generations will benefit. I would like to thank the organizers for inviting me to Inaugurate this programme”.

MLA Vedavyas Kamath delivered the presidential address.
