Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary Inaugurates Mobile Throat Swab Collection Unit
Mangaluru: The District Minister In-charge Kota Srinivas Poojary inaugurated the Mobile Throat Swab Collection Unit at the DC office here on May 3.
Speaking to the mediapersons Kota Srinivas Poojary said, “We have officially inaugurated the Mobile Throat Swab Collection Unit at the DC office. It will move around the city for two weeks and collect throat swab for testing. The testing unit will help the people to get their throat swab tested free of cost. The Nirmthi Kendra donated this unit to the Health Department. MLA of Mangaluru North Constituency has also donated a Mobile throat swab collection unit to the district administration.”
Speaking to the mediapersons Dr Bharat Shetty said, “The COVID-19 cases are now increasing, and we need to go to various places for testing. When we go around and use the PPE kits for testing it is very expensive. So the Mobile throat swab collection unit will help to test the samples. The mobile unit will be helpful so the technicians who can sit safely inside the unit and take the sample. I had thought of using it in my constituency, but now I have handed it over to the District administration, and they will use it accordingly.”
The keys of the Mobile throat Swab collection Unit was handed over to the Nirmithi Kendra by the district minister In-charge Kota Srinivas Poojary.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, DC Sindhu Roopesh, MLA Vedavyas Kamath and others were also present.
