Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary offers Bagina to Swarna River
Udupi: Kota Srinivas Poojary the Minister of Muzrai, Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport and also the Udupi district minister in-charge offered Bagina to the Swarna River near Krishnagaraka Snanagatta, Shimbra Siddivinayaka Temple, Muduperampalli here on August 29.
After offering Bagina, Poojary said, today we have offered Bagina to the Swarna River. Our former minister Dr V S Acharya dreamt to develop this Snanagatta to attract more and more tourists from across the world. Our new government is committed to developing this area with the help of the Muzrai and tourism department in the coming days.
We have spoken to the chief minister about the sand mining crisis in Udupi district and will try to give sand to the public in 10 days. To prevent incidents like the Suvarna Tribhuja boat tragedy – which claimed seven lives – the government will approach Isro, seeking its assistance in developing an app to help stranded fishermen, he said.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Councilor Balakrishna Shetty, Sumithra Nayak, former CMC president Dinaka Shetty Herga and others were present.
