Minister Pramod Inaugurates Civil Service Examination Training

Udupi: “If the officials fulfil their duty with determination and honesty, the society will witness new vibe in development said”, Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and District Minister in-charge, Pramod Madhwaraj. He was speaking after inaugurating the training programme organised by the District Administration to Civil Service aspirants at Town Hall, here on August 14.

Addressing the gathering Pramod said, “The peoples representatives are answerable for the issues faced by the people, but officials are given the responsibility of the administration, the people representatives and the officials should work in parity to solve the issues faced by people. Officials should be given a free hand to function within the legal parameters. Officials should never lose hope while facing certain tough issues in their work”.

Minister Pramod further said, “The Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts play a vital role in education and human resources. The number of students from the twin districts appearing and passing the civil service examinations is very rare. Students are capable of cracking the civil service examinations but they do not prefer civil services over other professions. Students should be made aware of the importance of civil services. The government has been constructing a library in Udupi at a cost of rupees 5 crores where books on civil services will be made available to the public”.

Nandini who has scored the first rank in the 2017 civil services exam along with Naveen Bhat who has scored 37 rank were facilitated on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Nandini said that the civil services examinations can be cracked with sheer dedication and willingness to serve the society. Confidence is the key factor to excel in the civil services examination. Society can be served effectively through civil services. One should not regret or hesitate to be in the rural areas but should take the examination as a challenge. Naveen Bhat said that regular study and taking guidance on civil services will help a person to excel.

Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Priyanka Mary said that it is very easy to criticise the system, one should thrive hard to change the system. There is a shortage of staff in government offices in Udupi and D.K. Positions in many departments are vacant, youth should come forward to apply for such vacant positions. The district administration will host the training sessions on civil services during the last week of August, interested youths can apply through www.udupi.nic.in.

District Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjeev Patil said that students should read the newspapers and gain knowledge of the current affairs and should join hands in solving the issues affecting the country. Students who have the determination to serve the country through the civil services should join the civil services.
Probationary IAS Officer Poovitha, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anuradha, Principal of G. Shanker First Grade College Prof. Jagadeesh Rao, Udupi Tahashildar Maheshchandra, Lions Club President Harish, Devraj of Ambedkar Development Corporation and others were present.
