Minister Pramod Unveils Udupi Tigers MPL 2016 Jersey

Udupi: The NMPT Cricket ground is all set to witness the most awaited Mangaluru Premier League which is scheduled to be held from December 17.

Udupi Tigers, the only team from Udupi participating for the second time in the Mangaluru Premier League, launched their team and Jersey at the Malpe Beach on Tuesday, December 13.

Prior the Team Launch programme, to create awareness on cleanliness a Bike rally Under the Theme of “Swacdh Bharat, Green Bharat” was flagged off near the DC Office Manipal. Chandrika Shetty Block Congress president flagged off the rally.

The Rally passed through Tiger Circle, Manipal – Udupi Road, Indrali, Kadiyali, Kalsanka, City Bus-stand, Service Bus-stand, Jodurasthe, Brahmagiri, Ambalpadi, Karavali Road, Nittur, Ambagilu, Santhekatte, Nejar, Kemmannu, Hoode and culminated at the Malpe beach.

Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in-charge and also the minister for state sports, youth welfare and fisheries unveiled the Jersey, he congratulated the team and said that Udupi Tigers should bring laurels to the district by winning the MPL.

Yashpal Suvarna president of DK and Udupi district Fish seller’s federation congratulated the Udupi Tigers team for their efforts and expressed hope that the team would perform well in the MPL-2016.

Ravi Shetty president Karnataka Karmika Vedike, team owner Zabeer, Zafrulla, Ashraf, Tanveer, Jamaluddin, Prabhakar Shetty, Dr Vinod Nayak, Sachin Pai, Zahid, Zakaria, Sirajuddin, Imthiyaz among others were present during the team launching ceremony.

The dignitaries launched the team by releasing the balloons into the air. The event followed with exciting spot games, live music, dance and exciting gifts.

The players of the Udupi Tigers team are: Asif, Gurudeep, Sachin Kumar, Bharath Kota, Amogh, Shashank, Harsha Shetty, Chethan S Sanil, Viraj Ullal, Abhishek Shetty, Zubair, Chiranth TC, Naveen MG, Naga Bharath, Nagarjun, Jayaprakash, Dinesh and Charan Bhandary.
