Minister Rai Releases Poster for Unity March ‘Samarasyada Nadige Sauhardatheyedege’
Mangaluru: Like-minded organizations to hold “Samarasyada Nadige Sauhardatheyedege”, on December 12. The poster and logo of the unity march were released by the district minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai at the Town Hall Mini Hall here on November 30.
Addressing the mediapersons Minister Ramanath Rai said, “Dakshina Kannada is known as Intellectuals district but we are lacking unity and brotherhood in our society. We need to bring unity and harmony among the people. Some months ago there was a fear of communal unrest in the district and in this connection, we had called a meeting at the DC office. During the meeting like minded people suggested holding a unity march. We have taken their suggestion seriously and decided to hold the unity march from Farangipet to Mani on December 12. At 9:00 am the ‘Kalnadige Jatha’, will be flagged off at Farangipet and is expected to reach Mani at 4:00 pm followed by a stage programame”.
Minister Ramanath Rai further said, “Like minded people who want peace and harmony in the society will join the unity march from Farangipet. The unity march will be an apolitical march. Leaders from various organizations, religious and social organizations will be taking part in the unity march. Throughout the Unity march, there will be no slogans. We will hold placards in our hands and silence will be maintained during the march. The right-wing organizations those who involved in murder will not be entertained. We will not support those who spread violence. The march is for peace-loving people and those who are interested can join the unity march.”
Minister Ramanath Rai also said, “Since we respect the law, we had postponed our unity March which was supposed to be held on September 12. We have organized the Unity March from Farangipet to Mani to avoid problems to motorists if held in Mangaluru city.
DCC President Harish Kumar, Sushil Noronha, Rita Noronha, Yogish Shetty Jeppu, Vasanth Achary, Muneer Katipalla, Yadav Shetty, M Devdas, T Narayan Poojary, Vasudev Kuloor, Chandu L, Vishu Kumar, Seetharam Berenja, Karunakar, Thimmappa, Ravi Kumar and others were also present.
