Minister Ramanath Rai inaugurates Flower Exhibition At Kadri Park
Mangaluru: The fruit and flower exhibition was inaugurated by the District Minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai at the Kadri Park here, on January 26.
The district minister in-charge Ramanath Rai inaugurated the Flower exhibition by cutting the ribbon. In his inaugural speech, Minister Rai said, “The horticulture department is organising flower and fruit exhibition every year to encourage farmers. To encourage the self-help groups, this year the department of Women and child development has put up some stalls. The products from the self-help groups have been put up for sale. The Flower exhibition is getting more and more popular every year attracting more people for the exhibition.
The special attraction of the flower exhibition was the structure od Rani Abbakka decorated with thousands of dutch roses. I congratulate the horticulture and the Women and child development department for their efforts in organising the exhibition.”
The Deputy director of Horticulture department Yogesh H R said that the special attraction of the exhibition is the model of ‘Rani Abbakka’ which is made with 25,000 Dutch roses. We have also done 8 fish models with dutch roses. The food festival will be inaugurated in the evening at the Kadri park.
There were a number of food stalls selling fried items like chips, fried dal and other eatables. These food items are being sold without a manufacturing and expiry date. The food officers checked such stalls and warned the vendors to follow the rules while selling their products.
Mayor Harinath, Roopa D Bangera, Appi, ZP president Meenakshi Shanthigodu, Sashidhar Hegde and others were also present.
To promote the terrace garden, the horticulture department has made a model of the Terrace garden.
