Minority, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Zameer Ahmed meets Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo
Udupi: Minority, Food and Civil Supplies Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan on Saturday, November 17 visited the Bishop’s House Udupi and met the Bishop Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo.
Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese welcomed the Minority, Food and Civil Supplies Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan on behalf of the Diocese.
During the visit, the Bishop appealed to the minister to sanction the pending grants that were sanctioned earlier by the Congress governments for the Udupi Diocese and St Lawrence Basilica Attur Karkala.
The minister agreed to sanction all the pending grants as early as possible. He assured that the State Govt stands with the Catholic Minorities of Karnataka. The Minister also promised that he will take necessary steps to defend and uphold the rights of the Christian community in the State.
Former Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, Attur Basilica’s Rector Fr George D’Souza, KPCC Secretary G A Bava, Congress leader M A Gafoor, Udupi district Congress President Janardhan Tonse and others were present on the occasion.
