Miscreants attack youth for talking to Girl from other faith

Udupi: A youth has been assaulted by miscreants for talking to a girl from other faith in Shirva on February 1 evening.

Chethan Shriyan (21), was injured in the assault and is admitted to the hospital.

Chethan Shriyan, a resident of Mattu, Katpadi is alleged to be in friendship with a girl from other faith residing in Shirva. They both had attended the annual feast of Our Lady of Health, Church in the evening and were talking to each other. Miscreants who arrived in a car, made Chethan to forcibly sit in their car and later assaulted him.

Chethan is said to have befriended the girl through the social media and it is said that they both decided to meet during the annual feast of our lady of Health Church Shirva. Chethan is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Shirva Police after registering the first information report have initiated the investigation.
