Mishap during Umrah – Mother and Son from Manjanady Die
Mangaluru: A young man hailing from Montepadavu near Manjanady on the outskirts of the city and his mother died in a road mishap in Al-Qassim region in the Gulf kingdom on Saturday.
Abbas (28), son of Muhammed, had taken up a job in Jubail, Saudi Arabia four years ago. In last November, he had got married here.
Two weeks ago, according to his wish, his parents and wife had travelled from here to Saudi Arabia on visit visas. All the four made use of the visit for an Umrah, which is a pilgrimage to the holy places during the non-Haj period.
While returning from the visit, the car they were travelling in met with a mishap. Abbas and his mother Khadijamma were thrown out to the road. They reportedly died on the spot.
His wife and father were also injured. They are being treated in a hospital in Jubail. Abbas, who was a strong support to the family, is survived by his father, a brother and three sisters.
