Missing Bhatkal woman traced after 3 months in Mangaluru Railway Station
Udupi: The deaf and mute woman who was missing for the past 3 months was traced in the Mangaluru Railway Station here on August 23. Zulekha (50) from Magdoom Colony, Bhatkal went missing from Kundapur on June 23.
A woman home guard who was deputed in the Mangaluru Railway Station had read media reports of Zulekha missing from Kundapur. While Zulekha was trying to board a train in the Mangaluru Railway Station, the home guard recognized her and stopped her from boarding the train. Immediately she informed the higher officials and also called Zulekha’s relatives. Zulekha’ss relatives have left to the Mangaluru Railway Station to meet her.
On June 23, 2017, Bibi Zulekha had boarded the Bhatkal – Mangaluru Express bus and did not return to her house ever since. A missing person complaint was registered in the Bhatkal police station. Her son Abdul Razak had arrived from Qatar to search for his mother. He had even announced a reward of rupees 10,000 for the person who would find his mother. To trace Zulekha, posters with her photo were widely circulated.
