Missing Father and daughter found dead in well
Udupi: An 8-year-old girl and her father who had gone missing since August 30 were found dead in an open well at Badanidiyoor in the Malpe Police Station Limits here on Thursday, August 31.
The deceased have been identified as Sharath (40) and his daughter Kannika (8). Sharath was earlier working in a Gulf country and had returned 3 years ago to settle in his native place. Kannika was studying in the third standard in a nearby English medium school.
According to the police, on August 29 after dinner, Sharath and Kannika had gone to sleep, but early morning when Sharath’s wife woke up Sharath and Kannika were missing. Family members informed the Malpe police and also started to search for them. On Thursday morning the bodies of Sharath and Kannika were found floating in an open well near Badanidiyoor.
The exact reason for taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained. The Malpe Police have registered a case and are investigating.
